Skin Scrapings & CytologyWe are able to collect the appropriate samples to test for skin mites via the skin scraping procedure. After we have procured an adequate sample Dr. Ernest personally evaluates the slide microscopically to determine what type of mites may be plaguing the patient. Dr. Ernest is uniquely well-qualified to perform and evaluate this procedure because he has a masters in Parasitology.
Not all samples are collected via a skin scrape! Where ear mites are concerned a simple swab will do, though both procedures require microscopic evaluation to make a diagnosis. |
